Why Make a New Wreath for Winter

Okay so I have to admit I LOVE packing up Christmas decorations!  I know that some people feel sad, in fact there is a song that I know that says “I cry the day that I take the tree down…”  It is very melodramatic and every time I hear it, I think, yeah I cry tears of JOY that my house is finally not cluttered anymore.  (I am not all the sentimental)

And while I love wiping the slate clean, there’s no reason the rest of the winter has to be dreary, though.  I’ve been looking around the web for ideas that will keep my house looking beautiful during the long, cold months ahead, starting with the front door.  Today I’m sharing some of the beautiful winter wreaths I’ve discovered.

White Wreaths

When I think of winter I think of white! White wreaths really pop on dark or colored doors. They can also be really fun to play with different textures. Use these white wreaths as inspiration for making your next white winter wreath.

  1. fantastic. yes, i completely agree – i can’t WAIT to get the tree out of here (it’s looking QUITE wonky from 2 year old fingers…) and organize my life back. 🙂 but i am doing my best to enjoy it until the 12 days of Christmas are up.

I want to make a sweater wreath!! thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

  2. I love all of these wreath ideas. Thanks for collecting. I have to agree with you about the “takedown”. While I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmas decorations, I do the happy dance when they all come down. Spent most of the day yesterday taking down the decorations and cleaning the house. It felt good going to bed last night knowing that big task was done!

  3. Pinch Me Please! Thank you so much for including me in this list . It is amazing to be included with the incredible talent that is listed here. Just one this blog and Thank you again for the shout out!

  4. Love this post! I dread decorating for Christmas every year and love putting it all away!! (I do love it up but don’t like to do it!) I just came up (at 11:30pm) from dragging all the bins to the basement and read this. It reminded me that I left the wreath on the door! If it were more winter than Christmas I would leave it…Thanks for the reminder!

  5. Wow! Thanks for the shout out. I haven’t been around blog land in a while and what a happy moment for me to see my cotton ball wreath featured here. (-: It just might make me start writing again. Thanks again and HaPpY NeW yEaR!

  6. I really perked up at the cotton ball wreath. Sometimes less is more. Also the one with the robins. 2 doors 2 wreaths.

  7. I’m conflicted on wreaths at the moment, they used to be one of my favorite and few seasonal decorations that my minimalist self could embrace, but since I moved and chose to have double, five paneled, clear glass doors, I can’t fathom hanging even a pair of wreaths on them because I don’t want to look at the back of the wreath through the glass every time I come to front door and hanging 4 wreaths so the front and back match is just crazy, lol! I have hung an extra large fall wreath centered on a set of windows overlooking my porch next to the front doors, but I don’t know what to do with my collection of average size wreaths…and I don’t have a fireplace/mantel to hang them over either… :/ What’s a transitional minimalist to do??
